Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist CRT to deliver high-quality respiratory care in our acute care setting. In this role, you will assess patients, administer therapies, manage ventilators, and respond to respiratory emergencies. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and ensure accurate documentation and equipment safety. Responsibilities Provide safe, evidence-based respiratory care to acute and critical care patients under physician direction Administer, monitor, and document respiratory treatments, therapies, and ventilator support Perform patient assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust respiratory care plans accordingly Respond to respiratory emergencies, including rapid response and code blue situations Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and discharge care plans Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of respiratory equipment and supplies Document all care in the electronic medical record in accordance with HCA Healthcare policies Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times Participate in ongoing training, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Respiratory therapy procedures Ventilator management Arterial blood gas analysis Patient assessment Emergency/Code response Pulmonary function testing Infection control practices Electronic medical record documentation Respiratory equipment setup and maintenance Patient and family education
