Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist for our critical care team. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based respiratory care to acutely ill adults, including ventilator management, airway support, and emergency response. You will perform assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer therapies, and monitor patient response in collaboration with physicians and nurses. You'll document accurately in the EMR, ensure equipment safety, and support quality and patient-safety initiatives. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients, including ventilator management and airway support Perform respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer respiratory therapies and medications per provider orders Monitor, interpret, and document patient responses and respiratory status in EMRRespond to respiratory emergencies and rapid response/code situations Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Set up, operate, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment safely Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and therapies Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Required Skills Mechanical ventilation management Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Airway management and oxygen therapy Nebulizer and medication delivery systems Non-invasive ventilation (Bi
