You will educate patients, caregivers, and family members on proper equipment operation, maintenance, cleaning, safety precautions, and troubleshooting to promote confidence and continuity of care. This role also involves assessing patients' respiratory needs, verifying that equipment is functioning properly and adhering to physicians' orders and established clinical protocols. You will serve as a trusted resource for patients while maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating with healthcare providers and internal teams, and delivering a compassionate, patient-centered experience. What will you need to succeed: Current RRT or CRT Florida Licensure. Knowledge of teaching and training on use of equipment Knowledge of and ability to use software, EHR for proper documentation Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to self-motivate and work independently. A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.
