Job Description

As a Respiratory Therapist RRT at HCA Healthcare, you will deliver high-quality respiratory care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities include performing assessments, managing ventilators and oxygen therapy, administering treatments, and responding to emergencies. You'll educate patients and families, document care accurately, and partner with an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop care plans for diverse patient populations Administer and monitor oxygen therapy, ventilators, nebulizer treatments, and arterial blood gas sampling Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory care and patient outcomes Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and discharge care plans Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Respond to respiratory emergencies, including rapid response and code situations, following hospital protocols Required Skills Ventilator setup and management Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Oxygen and aerosol therapy administration Airway management and suctioning Pulmonary function testing (PFT) basics Respiratory patient assessment and care planning Use of respiratory monitoring and diagnostic equipment Infection control and respiratory isolation practices Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Emergency response for respiratory distress and codes
