Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary Per Diem, Rotate A registered respiratory therapist performs critical and non-critical respiratory care procedures and diagnostics through both physician directives and respiratory care protocols. Selected cross training activities and precepting of students and new staff as directed. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.Qualifications Education:
Associate Degree inRespiratory Care or Science Experience:
One year respiratory care experience in acute care facilityLicense:
Florida RRT licenseCertification:

NBRC, BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS

A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.
