A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Petersburg, FL 33710 We're a family-owned, family-operated licensed group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with four ventilator-dependent residents. No floating, no census surprises, no 12-patient assignments. You'll know all four by name, and they'll know you. What you'll do Monthly respiratory assessments and vent checks on four stable, long-term residents Routine trach changes, circuit changes, cuff and humidification checks Troubleshoot vent alarms and equipment issues; coordinate with our DME vendor Manage respiratory supply inventory and monthly ordering Be a phone resource for our Director of Nursing when something doesn't look right Schedule You set your own visit days. Most work fits into 1-2 visits a week plus occasional phone availability. Ideal for an RT with a hospital PRN job or a home-health caseload who wants steady, predictable hours close to home. Requirements Active Florida respiratory care license (CRT or RRT) Adult trach and vent experience; home/portable vent experience strongly preferred Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) strongly preferred — a genuine interest in this population matters more to us than years of experience Comfortable performing trach changes independently Why here Paid weekly, W-2, with a guaranteed weekly minimum regardless of visit count Same residents every visit — all seen in-home by PCP, pulmonology, cardiology, and all other specialty providers, and consistently stable Family-owned and operated — a small, hands-on team, not a corporate chain Ideal supplement to a hospital PRN job or home-health caseload Leadership invests in getting both residents and staff what they need to succeed Opportunity to pick up 1-2 sister locations with similar hours and census, for RTs who want more volume Apply with a short note on your vent/trach experience and any experience working with the IDD population
