Responsibilities:
- + Delivers Respiratory Care Services under the order of the physician and in accordance with protocols established by the hospital, other health care providers, or the board and functions in situations of unsupervised patient contact requiring individual judgment.
Certifications and Licensures Required:
- + RRT (Respiratory Therapy License) + Active NBRC Credential for
RRT + CPR
(Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) + NPR (Neonatal)- within 6 months + ACLS (Cardiovascular)
- within 6 months + PALS (Pediatric)
- Preferred + Reference summary for details

Education Required:
- + Technical Respiratory Therapy + Associate's Respiratory Therapy
- Preferred
Experience Required:
- + 6 Months Respiratory

A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.
