Job Description

As a NICU Transport RRT at Memorial Health in Savannah, you will provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill neonates during intra- and inter-facility transport. You'll assess respiratory status, manage ventilators and specialized equipment, and collaborate with NICU nurses, physicians, and transport teams to ensure safe, efficient transfers. Responsibilities Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill neonates during intra- and inter-facility transports Assess, monitor, and document neonatal respiratory status and response to therapy Manage ventilators, high-frequency ventilation, and other respiratory support devices during transport Ensure safe operation and readiness of transport respiratory equipment and monitoring devices Collaborate with NICU nurses, physicians, and transport teams to develop and execute transport care plans Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization prior to and during transport Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards during all transports Educate and support families regarding respiratory care and transport processes Engage in ongoing education, skills training, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Neonatal ventilator management High-frequency ventilation Airway management and intubation assistance Neonatal and pediatric transport procedures Vital sign and hemodynamic monitoring Respiratory assessment and treatment planning Use of transport equipment and monitoring devices Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Infection prevention and control Interdisciplinary critical care communication
