Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Tech to provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across our hospital network. In this PRN, day-shift role, you will perform respiratory assessments, administer treatments and therapies, manage oxygen and ventilator support, and monitor patient responses. You will collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to develop and adjust care plans, document care in the EMR, and maintain equipment. Responsibilities Perform respiratory assessments and administer prescribed respiratory therapies and treatments Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators and other respiratory equipment Obtain and monitor arterial blood gases and adjust therapy based on results and protocols Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to develop and modify respiratory care plans Document all treatments, assessments, and patient responses accurately in the EMRProvide emergency respiratory support, including during codes and rapid response situations Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment use and breathing techniques Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper infection control practices for respiratory equipment Required Skills Respiratory therapy procedures Ventilator management Arterial blood gas analysis Patient assessment Airway management Emergency respiratory care Infection control practices Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Pulmonary function testing Medical equipment operation and troubleshooting
