What they do
A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Performing patient assessments, general respiratory care procedures and protocols, critical care procedures in adult care areas, blood gas analysis, maintenance and management of all equipment and patient education.Qualifications:
Education Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required Work Experience No experience required Required Licenses and Certifications RRT- Registered Respiratory Therapist and Licensed by the State of Georgia under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required and BCLS
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and ACLS Upon Hire Required PALS
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 60
