Job Description

Role:
Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient assessments, collaborate with the healthcare team, and develop individualized care plans. Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, perform weaning, and interpret waveforms. Conduct airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care. Carry out arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and provide patient and family education. Mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers. Ensure quality and safety standards, promote evidence-based practices, and support performance improvement initiatives. Assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including pulmonary diagnostics and cardiac services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science; an associate's or bachelor's degree is required.
Certifications:
NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (all required upon hire). 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care. Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills; ability to establish collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals.
