A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

RCP License Full Job Description Role:
Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient care, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and arterial blood gas analysis. Educate patients and support system, mentor new staff and students, and participate in staff development. Collaborate with healthcare team for care planning and ensure documentation accuracy. Promote quality and safe environment through adherence to policies, performance improvement, and evidence-based practices. Assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including pulmonary diagnostics and cardiac services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Certifications:
NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS required upon hire. 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care. Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills; ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals.
