RCP License Full Job Description Role Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings. They handle ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas analysis, and facilitate patient education and staff mentoring. The role involves independent decision-making, protocol adherence, and collaboration with healthcare teams to deliver safe, high-quality care tailored to diverse patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapies, including medication delivery, ventilator management, and airway procedures. Assess patients, verify orders, and collaborate on care planning. Educate patients and support staff and students. Ensure safety through accurate documentation, medication safety, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Promote evidence-based practices and adhere to policies and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Certifications:
NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS required upon hire. 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care. Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in computer systems and databases.
