Job Description

Role Overview:
Responsible for administering and managing all forms of respiratory care in accordance with physician orders and clinical standards. Acts as a leader and care coordinator by developing, evaluating, and modifying respiratory plans of care, collaborating with physicians and clinicians, and serving as a respiratory consultant across hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and evaluate respiratory care plans using evidence-based practices. Demonstrate proficiency in invasive and non-invasive procedures and equipment. Manage respiratory medications, clinical chemistries, and artificial airway procedures. Participate in quality improvement and patient discharge planning. Provide education to patients, families, and clinical team members, including orientation and training. Prioritize care during high-acuity situations, ensuring accurate documentation and proper equipment maintenance. Utilize hospital information systems effectively and adhere to infection prevention policies. Assist with patient transports and perform routine clinical tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's preferred.
Licenses and certifications:
RRT, BLS, ACLS, and Georgia Respiratory Care license, all required upon hire. Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in critical care preferred. Skills include basic respiratory modalities, ventilator care and weaning, tracheostomy management, ABG collection, and EKG interpretation. Endotracheal intubation and bronchoscopy assistance are preferred.
