Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Contract Respiratory Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality respiratory care across diverse clinical settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in respiratory therapy, airway management, and critical care to improve patient outcomes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess, monitor, and support patients with respiratory needs, ensuring safe and effective treatment in fast-paced environments. Your dedication and skill will directly contribute to enhancing patient recovery and comfort during their most vulnerable moments. Duties Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients in hospital, outpatient, and emergency settings, including ventilator management and airway support Conduct thorough patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and respiratory function to determine appropriate interventions Administer medications and treatments following medical orders, including aerosol therapies, bronchodilators, and other respiratory medications Manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment with precision, ensuring optimal functioning for critically ill patients in ICU or trauma centers Monitor patient responses during procedures such as intubation or extubation, providing immediate intervention when necessary Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs Document all procedures accurately in medical records while adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards Requirements Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist with relevant certification (e.g., NBRC credential) Proven experience in hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU), emergency medicine, PICU (Pediatric ICU), or Level I/II trauma centers Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy Hands-on experience with ventilator management, airway management techniques, and acute care procedures Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs and medication administration Familiarity with hospital protocols for infection control and safety standards in inpatient and outpatient environments Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams and educate patients or families when needed Embark on a rewarding journey where your expertise makes a tangible difference!
