The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care services to residents across our skilled nursing facilities, helping manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions and supporting high-quality, resident-centered care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with nursing, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Assess residents' respiratory status and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory care plans. Provide respiratory treatments and therapies in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols. Administer and manage oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory interventions as ordered. Monitor residents' respiratory status, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and response to treatment. Identify changes in residents' respiratory condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff and physicians. Assist with the management of residents with chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and other pulmonary disorders. Provide respiratory care for residents requiring oxygen, tracheostomy care, ventilatory support, and other specialized respiratory services, as applicable. Educate residents, families, and facility staff regarding respiratory treatments, equipment, oxygen safety, and disease management. Collaborate with nursing, physicians, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatments, care plans, and resident responses. Ensure respiratory equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and safely used. Follow all infection prevention, safety, HIPAA, and facility policies and procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical meetings, and regulatory activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned by clinical and facility leadership. Qualifications Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required. Current Respiratory Therapist license in the applicable state. Current CRT or RRT certification required. Current BLS certification required. Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred; skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of respiratory assessment, treatments, oxygen therapy, and respiratory equipment. Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a team. Previous experience caring for medically complex or respiratory-dependent residents preferred.
