Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Job Summary:

Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in Pediatric (PEDS) care in Illinois. This position involves providing professional respiratory care to pediatric patients within a facility setting. The role requires working evening shifts, with an emphasis on clinical skills and experience in pediatric respiratory therapy.

Job Details:

Schedule:

Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week. Billable overtime after 40 hours per week, with additional OT billable after 48 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 2 years of current Respiratory Therapist (RT) experience. Illinois license must be active at the time of submission; proof of application for an initial Illinois single-state license is required if the license is not yet active. State licenses required include Illinois and Iowa. Certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or ARC/Red Cross, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Preferred Qualifications:

Work history/resume must demonstrate 24 months of current Respiratory Therapist (RT) experience. Professional references from supervisors or managers within the last 24 months are preferred.

Additional Information:

Candidates may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses. First-time travelers are accepted with relevant experience. Must have a valid drivers license. Submission requirements include active Illinois license, proof of application for Iowa license if applicable, and specific skills checklist matching the discipline. Orientation occurs weekly every Monday.
