A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

At Merrimack Health , we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $51.02 (Min) — $76.52 hourly (Max), excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Ancillary Operations and the clinical direction of the Medical Director of Pulmonary, provides operational and clinical oversight to ensure the effective functioning of Respiratory, Sleep, and EEG services across all Merrimack Health locations. Supports the coordination of administrative and operational activities required to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Promotes a culture focused on meeting the needs of patients and physicians, driving continuous quality improvement. Maintains accountability for the supervision and coordination of patient care activities within the departments.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
Required:
Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy from an approved Respiratory Care Program. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy Licensed by the Commonwealth of MA Work and/or educational experience that promoted group/team working relationships Demonstrate ability to communicate in written and verbal fashion. Possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Preferred:
