A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

5 Overland Park, KS Job Details Part-time | PRN 2 hours ago Qualifications RRT BLS Certification State-specific respiratory therapist license Bronchoscopy assistance Associate's degree RCP License Full Job Description Job Description Performs all aspects of the scope of practice of a respiratory therapist and where applicable cardiopulmonary scope of practice. Scope of practice includes but is not limited to diagnostic and metabolic testing patient assessment treatment planning and therapeutic interventions analysis and reporting of clinical response. Therapists work in collaboration with the medical staff and other members of the health care team to support efficient cost effective and quality patient and family care as well as providing patient and family education and discharge planning. The position supports system facility and department growth and quality through participation in performance improvement activities continuing education and professional growth and development activities along with other duties as assigned. RRT required by start date. This RT will help with PFT department coverage. Must be able to assist with bronchoscopies.
