Job Description

Responsibilities Report to work on time and ready to work in a quiet professional manner, following hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Provide quality care as ordered by the patient s physician(s). Provide patient and family education related to medications, therapy and diagnostic modalities provided. Ensures accurate patient documentation and monitoring. orders supplies and medications. Assist in other duties as assigned. Maintains current knowledge via hospital and department communication tools. Identifies problems and recommends ideas and solutions.
Qualifications Required:
One year in respiratory care
Diploma One of:
CRT or
RRT, RRT
must be obtained within 6 months of hire. AND Respiratory Therapist (KY)
Desired:
Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist OR Advanced Pulmonary Function Technologist

A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.
