7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Summary The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services, including respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilator management for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric populations. This role is responsible for monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation, performing arterial blood gas analysis and EKGs, delivering respiratory therapies, assisting with airway management, and ensuring care is provided in accordance with physician orders, established policies, and clinical best practices. Education Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in a specialty setting. Recent NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) experience required.

Certifications & Licensure:

Current Respiratory Therapist License in the state of practice. Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in computer systems, data entry, and electronic medical records. Working knowledge of Windows-based applications and keyboarding skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Excellent interpersonal and patient-care skills. Ability to analyze clinical information and make informed decisions. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced respiratory care procedures in accordance with departmental policies and standards of care. Monitor, assess, and document patient respiratory status and treatment outcomes. Manage and assist with oxygen therapy, ventilator support, and airway management. Perform diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, EKGs, and other respiratory assessments. Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding respiratory treatments and care plans. Deliver age-appropriate care based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patient population served. Maintain required certifications and stay current with respiratory care practices and technologies. Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives. Complete all required documentation accurately and timely. Perform additional duties as assigned.
