1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/Pediatric ECMO position requiring 2+ years of recent pediatric ECMO specialist experience and RRT credentialing. Details NICU and Pediatric Critical Care setting at a Level I and Level II Trauma teaching hospital Covers Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics units Performs neonatal and pediatric transports, including inter-departmental and ambulance transport Patient ratio of 1:8 Operates protocol-driven ECMO, high frequency jet ventilator, oscillating ventilator, and pressure/volume ventilators Manages BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and mechanical ventilation weaning Utilizes Epic charting system Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) and Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) available Requirements RRT credential required (CRT not accepted); MA license required if applicable, pending license acceptable RRT-NPS certification required BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 4 years of experience as an ECMO Specialist operating ECMO equipment on patients Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric ECMO experience required Epic charting system experience required Trauma Level I and Level II experience required Prior travel assignment experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Skilled in priming ECMO circuits and pediatric ECMO care Experience with Nitric Oxide (iNO), inhaled Flolan, and other specialized medication delivery preferred Proficient in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including bubble CPAP, bivent, and intubation assist Additional Information Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients with conditions including ARDS, RSV, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and respiratory distress syndrome Manage patients requiring ECMO, high frequency ventilation, and advanced airway management Participate in neonatal transports and ambulance/inter-departmental transports Work as part of a pediatric critical care and NICU team Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate compared to travel rate
