A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Overview Acute Care Gases (ACG) is currently seeking an experienced Part-Time Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Danvers, MA area. This position offers approximately 8-12 hours per week and includes resident assessments, respiratory equipment management, staff education, and scheduled clinical coverage at our partner facilities. If you're an experienced respiratory therapist looking for a flexible schedule and the opportunity to provide high-quality care outside of the traditional hospital setting, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments for residents. Recommend appropriate changes to respiratory therapy and respiratory equipment based on clinical findings. Set up, troubleshoot, and educate staff on respiratory equipment. Provide bedside education and clinical support to nursing and facility staff. Work independently as the primary respiratory therapist within assigned facilities. Adapt to changing resident acuity and facility needs. Travel between assigned skilled nursing and long-term care facilities as needed. Work scheduled shifts based on facility needs. Qualifications Respiratory Therapist license. Minimum of 2 years of paid hospital respiratory therapy experience . (Clinical rotations and volunteer experience do not satisfy this requirement.) Long-term care and/or home care experience is preferred but not required. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Reliable transportation for travel between assigned facilities. Why Join Acute Care Gases?
