A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.
•Position Purpose The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department What you will do Function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care Serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care Set up, operate and manage patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices Manage patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level) Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Pay Range:
$30-48/hr Pay is based on experience, skills, and education, including CRT vs. RRT. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
