A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Role:
Respiratory Care Practitioner - PRN, providing specialized cardio-pulmonary treatment, management, diagnostics, and patient education under medical direction.
Responsibilities:
Conducts assessments, develops and implements care plans, documents patient outcomes, and ensures professional standards in respiratory therapy practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Requires an AA or BS in Respiratory Care, 1-3 years of experience, Maryland licensure, and certifications including CPR, ACLS/BLS, and NBRC registration.
Key Duties:
Deliver respiratory therapy, evaluate patient progress, gather data, document care plans, and provide education to patients and families.
