What they do
A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description
- Full time, 36 hours per week, midnight shift About the Unit Our Respiratory Care Department is dedicated to providing comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages.
Registered Respiratory Therapist:
implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients, students, staff and physicians; provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care; assists with general department functions. Qualifications Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy Respiratory Therapist License- State of Michigan Upon Hire required Respiratory Therapist Registry
