A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with acute care experience for a day shift position at a hospital in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Details Acute care hospital setting serving medical, surgical, orthopedic, neurological, neurosurgical, cardiac, and critical care patient populations Also serves an Acute Rehab Facility unit with an average patient length of stay of 2 weeks and a high percentage of stroke patients Day shift schedule: Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00-16:30), with every 4th weekend required 13-week contract Requirements Active MN COTA license required if applicable Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of COTA experience required Acute care setting experience required Candidates must reside at least 25 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates within 25 miles will also be considered Additional Information Provide occupational therapy services across a broad range of acute care specialties including orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, and critical care Stroke rehabilitation is a significant component of the caseload in the acute rehab unit All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
