HCA Healthcare is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients in our acute care setting. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will assess respiratory status, administer therapies, manage ventilators, obtain and interpret ABGs, and respond to emergencies in collaboration with the care team. You'll document care accurately, follow evidence-based protocols, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status and develop appropriate care plans Administer oxygen, aerosol therapies, and respiratory medications per provider orders Set up, manage, and monitor ventilators and non-invasive respiratory support Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy as needed Respond to emergencies and provide respiratory support during codes and rapid responses Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes Support a patient-centered, compassionate care environment aligned with HCA values Required Skills Respiratory assessment and monitoring Administering oxygen therapy Ventilator management and troubleshooting Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Airway management and suctioning Nebulizer and aerosol medication delivery Emergency response (CPR/Code Blue support) Patient and family education Electronic medical record documentation Infection control and safety compliance
