1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ years of experience for a night shift adult critical care and emergency department position. Details Adult critical care and emergency department settings Patient ratio of 1:12-16 Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1800-0630 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Utilizes Epic EMR Performs airway management including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation Administers nebulizer treatments and various respiratory medications Cares for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis Neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures preferred, including high risk delivery assistance and capillary/umbilical blood gases Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience required BLS and RRT certifications required License required if applicable ACLS certification required NRP and PALS certifications preferred Epic EMR experience required Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred Skilled in chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation Spirometry experience preferred Two professional references required for consideration Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers will be considered for this role Any color scrubs permitted RTO limited to 2 requests per contract Traveler's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility Local candidates accepted at a lower rate Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Orientation includes completion of up to 4 hours of non-billable training modules recorded through MyPath
