The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of respiratory care, critical care procedures, and patient assessment techniques. This role involves providing vital respiratory therapy services to patients across various hospital settings, including emergency, ICU, pediatrics, and outpatient clinics. The Respiratory Therapist will play a crucial role in managing ventilators, airway management, and supporting patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Candidates with hospital experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers and expertise in pulmonology are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and improve health outcomes through expert respiratory care. Duties Assess patient respiratory status through vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and physical examination to determine appropriate therapy interventions. Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and medication delivery in accordance with physician orders. Manage ventilator settings and monitor patient responses to ensure optimal ventilation support for critically ill patients. Perform airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and suctioning while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, ICU, pediatrics, geriatrics, and pulmonology to develop individualized care plans. Conduct patient education on respiratory therapies, medication administration, and breathing exercises for both inpatient and outpatient settings. Document all procedures accurately within medical records while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies. Maintain proficiency in physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy practices. Skills Extensive knowledge of hospital medicine, critical care protocols, and emergency medicine procedures. Proficiency in ventilator management and airway management techniques essential for acute care environments. Strong background in pulmonology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration related to respiratory health. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred; familiarity with ICU settings is essential. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs monitoring and oxygen saturation analysis. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Demonstrated competence in handling complex cases involving pediatrics, geriatrics, or outpatient respiratory therapy needs.
