Category Respiratory - Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract An immediate opportunity is available for a skilled professional to support adult acute care units, including ICU, PCU, ED, and floor therapy settings. This contract role focuses on providing essential respiratory care and expertise for patients in critical and acute care environments.

Schedule:

Night shifts: 12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM 36 hours per week Every other weekend required Holidays as needed No block scheduling

Qualifications:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required Valid NBRC and New York State license Current ACLS and BLS certifications At least two years of recent acute care experience For non-U.S.

trained professionals:

minimum two years of U.S. work experience required Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and deliver therapies for acute and critical care patients Respond promptly to code situations and respiratory emergencies Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to respiratory interventions Collaborate with medical and nursing teams to create and update care plans Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure patient safety at all times Educate patients and families about therapy plans and respiratory management, as appropriate This contract position offers the opportunity to apply your acute care experience within a collaborative clinical environment, supporting a diverse patient population and high-acuity cases.
