Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description
Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC), a member of the University of Vermont Health Network, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist at CVMC, you will be at the forefront of patient care in respiratory services, working within a team that values community health and delivers personalized patient care. This role is critical in assessing patient needs, managing ventilation systems, and providing therapeutic treatments to those with respiratory disorders in a dynamic healthcare setting. Responsibilities Performing diagnostic tests to measure lung capacity Administering treatments like aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy Managing patients on ventilators Educating patients and families on respiratory health and treatment plans Collaborating with healthcare teams to devise effective treatment strategies Required Skills Proficiency with ventilatory and respiratory monitoring equipment Ability to perform diagnostic respiratory function tests Strong interpersonal and communication skills Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
