A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Rhinebeck, NY | 1099 Independent Contractor | Sleep Lab | Flexible Hours Our client is a leading provider of sleep laboratory management services and sleep therapy. Our client partners with hospitals and physician practices to offer comprehensive fully integrated services for patient identification, testing, diagnosis, treatment and long-term care management of patients with sleep disorders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Facilitating tests and collecting data Responsible for preparing equipment, recording activities, and analyzing results Responsible for following proper polysomnographic procedures including the use of electrodes, sensors, calibration of equipment, and fitting of airway pressure masks Analysis (scoring) of clinical events, such as respiratory and cardiac episodes, and tabulation of final data to be submitted for further review Required compliance with regulations and laws concerning safety control Analyze data from sleep studies and provide accurate results Monitor patients during sleep studies Make suggestions for improvement of sleep study results Provide patient care before, during, and after sleep studies Maintain patient records

REQUIREMENTS
Completion of an accredited Polysomnography program/CRT Must be licensed in the state you are in/if on the border of two states, be dual licensed. Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist "RPSGT" in the State of (list state) preferred, but (list state) PSG and/or Respiratory Therapist license(s) required Certification in basic cardiac life support (BCLS) and/or CPR SDS pathway Vaccination and immunization Experience working with a variety of sleep disorders Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
SCHEDULE
