A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Position Status:
Part Time or Full Time Schedule:
Nights (7pm-7am), includes every other weekend and one on-call shift per week
Pay Rate:
$30/hr.-$45/hr.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate competency, accuracy and understanding of ventilator management. Completely and correctly chart all pertinent information and settings. Understand and demonstrate proper manipulation of settings for the ventilator and oxygen. Troubleshoot ventilator and related problems. Respond quickly and appropriately to all ventilator alarms. Evaluate therapeutic respiratory plans and appropriateness of therapy.
