Job Description

Qualifications:
Valid and active Respiratory Therapist license (Registered Respiratory Therapist) BLS and ACLS certification required Experience with intensive respiratory care and patient transport Familiarity operating ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive) and performing pulmonary function studies Ability to perform various respiratory procedures (including tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, chest physiotherapy, oximetry/capnography monitoring) Basic arrhythmia recognition and 12-Lead EKG proficiency Experience in moderate complexity lab policies, specimen handling, and documentation preferred
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, intensive respiratory care to diverse patient populations Assess, recommend, and carry out patient treatment plans with a focus on rehabilitative and critical respiratory care Explain procedures, equipment, and provide education to patients and families, especially during discharge planning Operate and monitor various respiratory devices, administer medications, and ensure accurate documentation of treatments and responses Collaborate closely with physicians, participate in rounds, and deliver clear hand-off communication between shifts Assist with advanced respiratory procedures such as bronchoscopies, chest tube placements, and tracheostomy management Ensure preventative maintenance and prompt repair of respiratory equipment
