Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages under physician direction, ensuring high-quality treatment and rapid response in emergency situations. The role supports a collaborative clinical team in a patient-focused hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions as ordered by physicians or approved practitioners Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders Respond to emergency situations and participate in emergency drills Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment safely and effectively Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions Support and involve primary support persons or family members in patient care when appropriate Ensure all respiratory care services are delivered in accordance with hospital policies and procedures Demonstrate professionalism, clinical competency, and commitment to organizational values
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Active Respiratory Therapist License in the State of Ohio National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certification BLS, ACLS, and NRP Certifications

Certification 1-3 years of respiratory therapy experience in a clinical or hospital setting
