In this vital role, you will assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory issues across various settings, including critical care units, emergency departments, neonatal and pediatric units, and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate respiratory function and determine appropriate treatment plans. Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration. Manage and operate ventilators and other respiratory devices with precision to support patients' breathing needs. Monitor vital signs, blood gases, and other physiological parameters to track patient progress continuously. Respond swiftly to cardiac arrest emergencies and assist in airway management during critical situations. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR) documentation of patient care activities and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), and trauma settings. Requirements Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification recognized by relevant health authorities. Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, ICU, PICU, NICU, or trauma centers. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology related to respiratory health. Hands-on experience with ventilator management and respiratory devices used in acute care environments. Ability to perform airway management procedures effectively in high-pressure situations. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems for accurate documentation. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate patient care delivery. Technical proficiency in operating medical equipment related to respiratory therapy. Experience working with diverse populations including neonates, pediatrics, geriatrics, and trauma patients.
