A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a
NICU/PICU
night shift position requiring RRT certification and at least 2 years of specialty experience. Details Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30) Works in both neonatal and pediatric units depending on facility need Every other weekend and every other holiday required No on-call requirements 13-week assignment length Epic charting system preferred Requirements Active RRT certification required BLS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy specialty required At least 1 year of experience in a Level 3 or higher NICU or minimum 1 year of PICU experience required State license required if applicable First-time travelers will be considered Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration Additional Information Provides respiratory care in high-risk delivery and
NICU/PICU
settings, including CPAP, BiPAP, high-frequency ventilation, and intubation support Performs ventilator management, weaning, and airway management including tracheostomy care Administers medications such as Albuterol, Pulmicort, and Nitric Oxide as needed Provides care for infants and children with RSV Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate RTO requests must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start; no changes accepted after submission
