Job Description
In this role you will be: Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation. Monitor, evaluate, and document patient response to therapy; make appropriate recommendations and adjustments. Perform arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation. Initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators (BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, etc.). Respond to medical emergencies including code blue and rapid response situations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment use. Ensure proper functioning, cleaning, and maintenance of respiratory equipment. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and all regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, JCAHO).
