A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Summary The Respiratory Therapist assesses patient's condition and evaluates all data to determine the appropriateness of the prescribed respiratory care. Her or she participates in the development and delivery of the respiratory care plan in accordance with department policies and procedures. Qualifications Education Requirements Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role. Post High School Diploma Program Experience Relevant Experience Certification and Licensure PA Respiratory Therapist License NBRC Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) BLS Certification Required Skills Computer Skills to include use and navigation
