Moving Crew Leader Job Summary:
We are seeking energetic, reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as Driver/Mover/Packer. In this role, you will be responsible for safely driving a Company vehicle, packing, loading, transporting, and unloading household or office goods for residential and commercial clients. You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and stress-free moving experience for our customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
Driving Duties:
1. Operate company moving trucks (typically 16-26 ft.) safely and efficiently 2. Navigate routes using GPS and maps to ensure timely arrivals 3. Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections prior to leaving the office 4. Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery records 5. Ensure all passengers always wear a seat belt while in a moving vehicle 6. Ensure compliance with all DOT and company driving regulations 7. Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when parking the truck for the day. This includes the locks on the rear and side doors of the truck and the doors to the cab.
Moving/Packing Duties:
1. Pack and unpack household or office items with care and efficiency 2. Load and unload trucks using proper lifting techniques and equipment 3. Wrap furniture and fragile items to prevent damage during transit 4. Disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed 5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment 6. Communicate professionally with clients and team members 7. Always follow company procedures and safety protocols 8. Inspect items for damage before and after moving 9. Assist with inventory tracking and documentation 10. Clean up at the end of the move: a. Fold and properly stack moving pads b. Properly hang buckle and nylon straps c. Return all tools to the toolchest d. Clean out the truck and throw away all trash
Qualifications:
1. Must have a valid driver's license to drive Company vehicles 2. Must have all motor vehicle certifications to drive Company vehicles 3. High school diploma or equivalent preferred 4. Previous moving or packing experience is a plus but not required 5. Ability to up to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and work in physically demanding conditions. (Occasionally it will be required to lift greater than 50 lbs. with support.) 6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 7. Excellent customer service and communication skills 8. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Physical Requirements for a Mover/Packer
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (often several hours at a time)
  • Good hand-eye coordination and motor skills for operating a vehicle safely
Lifting and Carrying:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (typically 50lbs.) repeatedly throughout the day
  • Use of proper lifting techniques to prevent injury Endurance and Stamina
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods (8+ hours)
  • High level of physical stamina to handle long shifts and physically demanding tasks Flexibility and Mobility
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Ability to climb stairs while carrying items
  • Comfortable working in tight or awkward spaces (e.g., attics, basements) Dexterity and Coordination
  • Good hand-eye coordination for packing delicate items
  • Ability to use tools and equipment (e.g., dollies, straps, hand trucks) Balance and Stability
  • Ability to maintain balance while carrying heavy or bulky items
  • Navigating uneven surfaces or ramps safely Environmental Tolerance

  • Tolerance for dust, dirt, and potentially cramped or cluttered environments #
INDC Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
