A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Summary Performs a variety of clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of practice; works in accordance with direct physician orders and/or standard practice protocols under direct physician supervision; performs defined duties. Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Gathers information for patient visit with physician, including laboratory results, radiology tests, pulmonary tests and details of patient's condition. Assists physician with office procedures. Reviews existing data in patient medical record including Current Respiratory Care orders, medication list, radiology testing and other diagnostic testing. Patient history; Physical examination; Pulmonary function values; Laboratory data Returns patient phone calls; make appointments for ancillary services; assist with patient referrals, phone in prescriptions. Conducts respiratory care procedures as appropriate. Fill out CMNs. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements Education - Post high school education up to 18 months in a Respiratory Therapy program Experience - One (1) year in Respiratory Therapy In Lieu Of NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) from state in which work is performed. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) National Board of Respiratory Care Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic computer skills Data entry skills Mathematical skills Working knowledge of clinical office equipment (vitals, suction, defib) Work Shift Day (United States of America) Location Pulmonary Center - Seneca Facility Pulmonology-Seneca Department Pulmonology-Seneca-Practice Operations Share your talent with us!
