A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

POSITION
Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Tech
DEPARTMENT
Respiratory Therapy HOURS:
PRN JOB SUMMARY
Performs therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures as ordered by the physician. Must possess the ability and skill to provide the required care to patients ranging from infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. 2. Licensed by State of Tennessee as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician. 3. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification or able to obtain within 6 months. 4. One year hospital experience preferred. 5. Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with staff and patients especially in responding to complaints and problems. 6. Successfully fit test for N95 respirator.
