Job Description

TriStar Health is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist RRT for our NICU team. In this role, you will deliver advanced respiratory care to premature and critically ill newborns, including ventilator management, blood gas analysis, and support during high-risk deliveries. You'll collaborate closely with neonatologists and NICU nurses, educate families, and uphold strict safety and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive respiratory care to premature and critically ill neonates in the NICU. Set up, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilators, CPAP, and other respiratory support devices. Perform and interpret arterial, capillary, and venous blood gas analyses to guide therapy. Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation as part of the clinical team. Administer medications, surfactant, and aerosol therapies per provider orders and protocols. Continuously assess neonatal respiratory status and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with physicians. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function and adherence to safety standards. Educate and support families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care as appropriate. Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and regulatory guidelines while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
