Job Description

TriStar Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our NICU team, providing specialized respiratory care to high-risk and premature infants. In this role, you will manage ventilators and non-invasive support, perform comprehensive neonatal assessments, interpret blood gases, and assist with high-risk deliveries and resuscitations. You'll collaborate closely with neonatologists and NICU nurses, educate families, and uphold strict safety and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care to premature and high-risk infants in the NICUManage neonatal ventilators, CPAP, HFNC, and other respiratory support devices Perform and document comprehensive respiratory assessments and interventions Interpret and respond to arterial and capillary blood gas results Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations Collaborate with neonatologists, NICU nurses, and other team members on care plans Educate and support families on respiratory conditions and home care needs Maintain strict infection control and patient safety standards Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Neonatal ventilator management NICU respiratory assessment Blood gas interpretation Neonatal resuscitation Airway management Non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/HFNC) Infection control practices Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Family and caregiver education Interdisciplinary care coordination
