Job Description

Medical City Healthcare seeks a Seasonal Temporary Respiratory Therapist to support patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. In this finance-informed healthcare environment, you will perform respiratory assessments, administer and monitor oxygen and aerosol therapies, manage ventilators, conduct arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, and implement physician-ordered treatment plans. You will document care in electronic systems, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, educate patients and families, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and adapt quickly to fluctuating seasonal patient volumes. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments for acute and chronic patients Administer and monitor oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer therapies Set up, manage, and troubleshoot ventilators and noninvasive ventilation Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases to guide treatment Implement and adjust respiratory care plans per physician orders and protocols Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR accurately Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff on care plans Adapt to varying seasonal patient volumes and prioritize workload Required Skills Respiratory patient assessment Ventilator setup and management Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Oxygen and aerosol therapy administration Noninvasive ventilation (Bi
