Job Description

Medical City Healthcare is seeking a skilled
NICU RRT
to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this vital role, you will provide specialized respiratory care to neonatal patients in a high-acuity NICU setting, including ventilator management, respiratory assessments, and emergency interventions. You will collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, and other clinicians to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, compassionate, and adept in critical-care environments, with strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety and continuous clinical improvement. Responsibilities Provide respiratory assessment and ongoing monitoring for premature and critically ill neonates in the NICUInitiate, manage, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation, CPAP, high-flow, and other neonatal respiratory support modalities Perform and interpret arterial, capillary, and venous blood gases to guide respiratory treatment plans Participate in high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation support as part of the delivery team Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized respiratory care plans Administer aerosolized medications and other respiratory treatments safely and accurately Maintain, calibrate, and ensure safe operation of ventilators and other respiratory care equipment Educate and support families regarding respiratory treatments, equipment, and discharge planning when appropriate Document all respiratory assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record accurately and timely Follow hospital policies, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards to promote patient safety Contribute to quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice initiatives within the NICU respiratory care service Required Skills Neonatal mechanical ventilation management Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and high-flow nasal cannula therapy Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization Respiratory assessment of premature and critically ill infants Ventilator and respiratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance Aerosolized medication delivery in neonates Infection control and patient safety practices in the NICUElectronic medical record documentation Interdisciplinary communication and teamwork in acute care Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity settings Knowledge of neonatal respiratory pathophysiology and evidence-based protocols
