Job Description

Medical City Healthcare is seeking a Supervisor, Respiratory Therapy to lead our Respiratory Therapy team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, staff scheduling, performance management, and adherence to regulatory standards. You will support evidence-based respiratory care, collaborate with physicians and nursing leadership, ensure accurate documentation, and promote patient safety and quality outcomes. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, advanced respiratory therapy experience, and a commitment to mentoring and developing clinical staff. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of respiratory therapy services across assigned hospital units. Assign, coordinate, and adjust respiratory therapy staffing and workloads based on patient acuity and census. Provide advanced clinical support for mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and complex respiratory care cases. Participate in patient assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary rounds to optimize respiratory outcomes. Ensure accurate, timely documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, and responses in the EMR. Monitor adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements. Support onboarding, training, and competency validation for respiratory therapy staff. Offer real-time coaching, feedback, and mentoring to respiratory therapists to promote professional growth. Collaborate with leadership on quality and performance improvement initiatives, including data collection and reporting. Coordinate with biomedical engineering and vendors regarding respiratory equipment availability, safety checks, and maintenance. Participate in rapid response and code events, providing advanced airway and ventilatory support within scope of practice. Assist in developing and updating respiratory therapy policies, procedures, and clinical pathways. Foster a patient-centered, safety-focused culture within the respiratory therapy team.
