Job Description

Texas Orthopedic Hospital seeks a Respiratory Therapist CRT to deliver high-quality respiratory care to orthopedic and post-surgical patients. In this role, you will assess respiratory status, administer therapies, and monitor patient response, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation teams to support safe recovery. Responsibilities include oxygen and aerosol therapy, non-invasive ventilation, equipment management, documentation, and participation in emergencies. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care treatments and therapies to orthopedic and post-surgical patients as ordered by physicians Perform patient assessments, interpret respiratory data, and adjust therapy plans accordingly Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and non-invasive ventilation support Monitor, document, and report patient response to respiratory interventions in the medical record Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation teams to optimize respiratory function and recovery Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, techniques, and discharge care plans Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper operation of respiratory therapy equipment Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in all respiratory procedures Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and competency training Respond to respiratory emergencies and perform airway management within scope of practice Required Skills Respiratory assessment and care planning Oxygen therapy administration Aerosol and bronchodilator therapy Non-invasive ventilation (Bi
