What they do

A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

  • Will float to all areas of competency. RTT
  • Tier 1 CSO PRN
  • $45/HR + Shift diff Commit to 36 hours per 6-week schedule. Hours are not guaranteed. Work 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule. Work 1 Holiday shift during commitment period. Works at one AH facility. Reports to CSO department leaders, clinically managed by RT department Leaders. RTT-Tier 2 CSO PRN
  • $47/HR +Shift diff Commit to 36 hours per 6-week schedule. Hours are not guaranteed. Work 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule. Work 1 Holiday shift during commitment period. Works at TWO AH facilities. Reports to CSO department leaders, clinically managed by RT department Leaders RTT
  • Tier 3 CSO PRN
  • $50/HR +Shift diff Commit to 48 hours per pay period.

Hours are not guaranteed. Work 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Work 1 holiday & 1 DTS shift during commitment period. Works at TWO AH facilities. May request 1-week unpaid vacation during commitment period. No approved time off during holiday weeks. Must provide manager 4 weeks' notice for vacation requests. Reports to CSO departmental leaders, clinically managed by RT department Leaders RTT

  • Tier 4 CSO PRN
  • $55/HR + Shift diff Commit to 72 hours per pay period.

Hours are not guaranteed. Work 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Work 2 Holiday shifts during commitment period. Works at TWO AH facilities. May request 1-week unpaid vacation during commitment period. No approved time off during holiday weeks. Must provide manager 4 weeks' notice for vacation requests. Reports to CSO departmental leaders, clinically managed by RT department Leaders Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. Implements and monitors patient care plan and equipment. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. Educates the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs. Responds to emergency resuscitation team code. Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Associate [Required] High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

2+ years of relevant work experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

Active NBRC credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) [Required] Basic Life Support

  • CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Neonatal Resuscitation (NPR) [Preferred] Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred] Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred] NBRC
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty (NBRC-ACCS) [Preferred] NBRC Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialty (CRT-NPS) [Preferred]
